Meet Sal a 10 month old pizza-obsessed Rhodesian Ridgeback
A regular challenge is when they’re walking through the park and he sniffs out someone carrying a pizza home. His mom has to shout ahead and warn the person ‘he’s gonna jump on you for your pizza!’
Sal and his family live across the road from a pizza shop so every time they walk by he puts his head in the window and everybody is watching and laughing at him because he’s desperate to go inside.
When he’s not indulging his love of pizza, Sal loves playing at the park and goes crazy with his squeaky Chuckit balls. Now if only they made them pizza flavored!
After all that pizza hunting and ball chasing his very favorite pastime is to sleep on his parents bed. He snuck in there on his first night (with a bit of help from his dad) and just decided their bed was much more comfortable than his own!
Unsurprisingly his naughtiest deed involves food! If he sees someone sitting and eating breakfast outside he will beeline for them and his mom has to chase him down shouting ‘hide your food’.
Luckily everybody they’ve had an ‘incident’ with has been very kind – it helps that he’s so funny and just seems to get away with it!
Sal is his mom’s first dog and she says he has taught her so much patience through his training. In the first week she did wonder what she had got herself into (don’t we all?) and he was a lot of work.
But once they got into the routine it got easier and they began to build an amazing relationship and now they have an incredible bond together.
Sal is very sociable and has to introduce himself to every person that walks by, so his mom now knows everybody in her neighbourhood.
Sal’s mom’s favorite qualities about him are his kindness, sweetness and gentleness – but also the fact he is such a fun-loving social soul. He also keeps her on her toes so everyday is something different and never boring.
