Rescue Tales

Dogs I Meet believes in giving back to those in need. Rescue organizations in the United States and around the world are dedicated to helping dogs and doing amazing work. Through the power of my camera lens, visual stories can be told and shared to create awareness, galvanize support and raise funds for these important rescue organizations.

PAWFECT LIFE RESCUE - PUPPY PALOOZA

TRANSPORTING 14 RESCUE PUPS FROM TEXAS

It was a perfect day at Pawfect Life Rescue when 14 beautiful puppies arrived via transport truck from Texas. As the furry Fab Four – John, Paul, George, and Ringo – ended their long journey (along with 10 of their entourage) a palpable joy and hope filled the air around these amazing pups.

For those of us fortunate enough to be there, the feeling of holding, cuddling, telling them, “We’ve got you, you’re safe now,” is almost indescribable. Within seconds of arriving, they seemed to innately understand that they were finally safe and secure.

IT TAKES A VILLAGE TO SAVE A DOG

THE BIG MISSION: SUPPORTING RESCUES IN MEXICO

Not every dog has its day, nor do millions of dogs and cats have a home, or shelter, or even a fighting chance of survival.

This is particularly true in rural areas where stray dog and cat overpopulation has become so desperate that in many towns street dogs out-number entire human populations.

Read how six rescues are working together and have formed a village to help save as many of the stray and street dogs as possible.

THE BIG MISSION: VISIT TO ANIMAL RESCUE ORGANIZATIONS IN MEXICO

Dogs I Meet has a simple, obsessive philosophy: Every dog I meet has a tale to share with the world.

In January 2019, I traveled to Mexico to photograph and meet the dedicated animal rescuers and the dogs in their care to capture their tales.

I was determined to use the mission to generate awareness of their remarkable work and accomplishments in fighting the stray dog crisis in Mexico.

PAWFECT LIFE RESCUE

THE BIG MISSION: FINDING A HOME FOR SAINT BERNARD AND HER 12 PUPPIES

Dogs I Meet is a big supporter of Pawfect Life Rescue and the amazing work they do in saving and finding homes for countless dogs. They are a dedicated network of volunteers whose mission is to rescue stray dogs and place them in responsible loving homes.

After the Douglas, MA police and animal control rescued a dozen 5 week old Saint Bernard puppies along with their mom and dad they contacted Pawfect Life Rescue to arrange for foster care, veterinary care and coordinate the adoption.

Playa del carmen

THE BIG MISSION: GIVE THEM A VOICE

In August 2017, I traveled to Playa del Carmen, Mexico to photograph the Vidas 2017 Spay/Neuter Clinic. There, I got to know several different animal rescue organizations involved with the Vidas Spay/Neuter Clinic.

I was in awe of the passionate people, the robust rescue community, and the way they worked together, tirelessly to help dogs and cats.

At this one clinic alone, 1500 cats and dogs were spayed and neutered. Day after day, this work continues, with zero praise and minimal funding. I wanted to give them a voice, so I decided to create a Dogs I Meet Mission to help them.
